I have been lazy with my entries over the past few weeks due to various reasons. I appoligize and do not intend to keep up this trend. Today's entry I would like to discuss the state of the Yankees. I do not think I am the only one who sees this team as an old team that needs more young players to boost there play. I am able to see them play everynight and watch them carefully and they are not a good team in any aspect of the game. They have 3 great players A-rod, Jeter and Matsui and there other 6 starters are aging or not that good to begin with. Sheffield is still an excellent player, but he is old and cannot play every day like he has been able to in the past. After those 4 players this lineup gets thin very quick. Jason Giambi is not that good the steroid mess has caused him to question his ability and he will never be half the player he was with Athletics. He cannot hit good fastballs and does not go the other way with pitches like he did in the past. Tino Martinez is a joke I mean this guy hasn't been able to play since the mid nineties he cannot be counted on to be a every day player. Robinson Cano this new prospect is unproven and facing a lot of pressure moving into Bernie Williams spot in the lineup. Jorge Posada is aging faster than any player this side of Bernie Williams. He is a double play machine with his weak grounders he always hits with guys in scoring posistion. Bernie Williams is a joke... enough said. Tony Womack getting moved to outfield, If you count on Womack for offensive production you are screwed. Moving to there pitching Jaret Wright is not good... Jon Leiber sure would look nice yankees fans. Carl Pavano is solid he is Mike Mussina of 5 years ago. Mike Mussina is inconsistent and cannot give you 7 innings consistently. Randy Johnson is old and injury prone in this cold northern weather. It is amazing that people are not more on this he is pitching in cold weather that wears on a pitchers body more than the tropical Arizona air. Kevin Brown the Yankees are giving him away for any takers. He is a joke and will be out of this rotation soon. The bullpen is not good it is old. Rivera is still solid, but he is not as invinsible as he has been in the past. Teams are catching on to his cutter and can hit him more consistently. Gordon has no command of his curveball and his fastball is not that good. He is getting hammered 2 out 3 nights lately. Quantrill is not good he lost his stuff and cannot be relied upon. Tanyon Sturtz is there best set-up man.... ya the same Tanayon Sturtz who attacked Gabe Kapler last year. (I'm not an expert,but I think Kapler would be the last guy I would fuck with) This team is going knowhere and fast. I predict they play better soon but not good enough for the playoffs Final Recod 88-74
