Feb 8 2005 It is still early in the game, but here is my first list of top Triple Crown contenders. Many have yet to start this year and the Kentucky Derby on May 7th is still a long way off, so lots of things can happen along the way. Many of these will fall by the wayside and others will take their place in the weeks to come, so expect this list to change frequently. Early Triple Crown nominations are now closed with late ones still open until March 26. The Experimental Free Handicap is also out now so the dual qualifiers are set and are indicated by a star next to the horse's dosage index. Click the horse's name to see a profile with lots of information, stats, and a photo where available. Jockeys are based on who is currently riding the horse, so expect changes there as well.
