Sorta dumb question considering 2 people read this and one is my friend from Cleveland... Moving to a new city in a new state can be pretty intimidating. Beyond the normal adjustments of moving to Florida, something has me deeply concerned. Where can I find a home game? I will be moving there by September and I will be looking for a home game to start attending. Not knowing a soul when I move down there, will make finding one even more difficult. Eventually I will make some friends and find a home game but it wouldnt hurt going down there and knowing of one. If I get accepted to the University Of South Florida, like I am hoping, and I am sure I will find one pretty quickly. We will see Other worries about moving to Florida · Watching University of Michigan football, here I know if I turn on ABC at game time, the game is on. Who knows what they will be showing in Tampa? Most likely a Florida school· Watching the Detroit Lions. Not much of a demand nationally to see them play. Although I think Florida is the favorite location for Metro Detroit Snow Birds to migrate to in the winter. Might have to spend my Sundays in a sports bar.· Detroit Pistonspretty much the same as the previous two. I guess I could get satellite and order the College Football package, NFL, and NBA Passbut that could get expensive· Will I have an internet connection when I first get down there? Staying in my in-laws house while they are still in Michigan, so we can find a place with out house or apartment shopping on the internet. Will they have high speed internet available? God I hope. Oh well, just had to get those off my chest. Moving to Florida is one of the biggest decisions I have made in my life. Leaving friends, family, house, and stable job to go to pretty much an entire life of uncertainty. ScaryI am not much of a risk taker; I like my routines and pretty much stick to them. So this is a huge, scary step for me. I will eventually move back to Michigan, this is just something for me and the wife to do. We have no kids, love warm weatherhey what the hell lets move to Florida. We will see how it goesThe Derek and Kelly Escape to Florida Project official begins by June 1st. This is the latest that we will be out of our current house. I will be creating a website for this, so I can post pics for the family and friends and go figure, write a blog about it. These days it seems like everyone is so busy, I dont see many of my friends a lot anyways. I do see my brother a lot; he only lives 2 miles away. So that will be difficult at first. Sometimes he is frustrating and a little too much to take. With that being said he is the type of person that if he had only one pair of shoes and with those shoes he had to walk to work everyday to support his family and anybody needed those shoes to help them with something. He wouldnt even have to think twice about it, those shoes would be on the other persons feet before they could finish explaining why they need them. Then he would continue to walk barefoot to work. This one trait of his more than makes up for his faults. Its something he learned from my father and something I continually strive to be like. Knowing that if I needed him in any situation, all I have to do is call and he will be there anyway he can. This is a major drawback to moving to Floridabut if I called and said I needed him in Florida, he would be on the next flight. Pokerthis is a blog about poker right Played in free roll on Noblethanks to Poker Prof. I shouldnt have playedI didnt have time for it and was really into itoh well, at least it was free.
