Quick update cause I only played one sit and go today. I wasn't planning on playing at all but now that Benji is playing on PokerStars we had to play a $5 match. He came out firing, playing aggressive but not overly aggressive. He used small bets and a lot of average sized pots to chip away at my stack, knocking me down to about $1050 in chips when I picked up 6-6 in the big blind. He raised the mininum and I just called. The flop came A-6-3. A perfect flop for me. He led out with a bet of $40 into the $80 pot. I raised to $140 and he called. At that point I put him on A-x had to figure out how to get the most chips I could off of him. The turn came Q and I led out with a $210 bet, trying to induce a call with a bet that was about two thirds the size of the pot. He did call and when the river blanked off I bet out about $500. He made a great laydown with A-K but that hand gave me the chip lead with about $1800 to his $1200.
We went back and forth for a few minutes until I picked up A-A on the button. At this point the blinds had been raised to $15-$30 so I made a standard raise to $120. He called and the flop came K-10-6 rainbow. I bet out $150 hoping he had caught a piece of the flop and he called. With $440 in the pot the turn came down A, putting two diamonds on the board. I was almost positive after his call on the flop that he had a K or a 10 so this flush draw didn't scare me. I thought that if he a pair of kings or tens that he wouldn't call a bet with that turn card so I checked. My hope was that he would lead at the river with a bluff or something like two pair. The river came K, giving me a full house. Now I was really hoping he had a K and he led out with a bet of $300. I raised about $530 more to put him all in and he called and showed K-2 for three kings. There wasn't anything he could have done to get away from that hand but I was definitely glad I checked the turn because the ace might have scared him off and he wouldn't have seen his third king on the river.
Well that's all for today. Hopefully the break today will have me refreshed and ready to go tomorrow.
