At the end of another day of totally random results, where odds on favorites didn't get round, and rank outsiders trotted up like spring bunnies!! I watched one of the races in the Coral bookies in Winchester, and the track at Fontwell looked more suitable for a celebrity mud wrestling match. And tomorrow looks very iffy, if for no other reason than snow is forecast...and no-where in the bloody Racing Post does it say if a particular horse runs well when fitted with bloody skis. My old gambling buddy K has a new system, where he only backs horses where he can get 5 different "tipsters" all backing it. He will now only back it if it is 5 star. Now, I have told him what happened to Britain's answer to the Jackson's...5 Star, and today his one and only selection went the same way as their career, being pulled up when going backwards. I think if K and I were to bet on which horsebox would get a puncture on the way to the bloody race course, or bet on which horse would get stuck in the stalls, we would have an all together better chance of finding a "winner". K is understandably anxious to find a couple of winners this week, as he has a head office visit to his bank branch on Monday next week, and he really must put some money back into the safe. As ever, he is confident of a strong result tomorrow...or is it the day after tomorrow...whatever, I know he will put all the money back. I, on the other hand managed a very modest profit on my own bets, but only by scrambling like crazy in the last few races. I am knackered...like most of K's selections, really, so I will sign off now.
