Not that they sent me an email about it, but I stumbled onto the reload bonus code for August for Empire Poker, PLAYAUG. 100% bonus of up to $100, which is nice and player friendly. So, I went for it. Empire is the smae almost everything as Party Poker, so the tables were familiar, the software was familiar, it was like bonus round number two at Party. While I should've been blogging all along, I managed to get all my sessions in and finish the bonus. The terms were $100 for 1,000 raked hands, not the 700 like Party, but I didn't need to put up as much cash either, so it's certainly not a bother. By the end of hand 1,000, I had lost money. Just a bothersome run where I got hit with a set over set, or my AQ that flopped to top two pair got outdrawn, or my Aces were cracked by 79o. It's poker. And this time it was far less infuriating than it used to be. I'm coming to grips with the "it's all one big session" concept. Takes some of the sting out of the downswings, and tempers the rushes. In the end, toss in the bonus money, and I'm still cashing out ahead.
