End Of Month Report August 2005
Thursday, September 01 08:19:33 PM 2005
August was my first losing month. During the month I made 2 final tables in $1 MTT's but overall most of the losses came at the $1/$2 limit tables although I was ahead at .50/$1. They say that the pro's should expect 2 losing months a year and if so, I guess this one could have been worse. I am down $53.66 for August giving me a total current bankroll of $494.15.
I tried many things in August. Mini Step tournaments at Party. $1/$2 at Pokerroom, $2/$4 at Pokerroom and of course my current level of .50/$1. My wife the other day told me to stop pushing so hard, After my loss of week 16 and my disgust with myself over what I percieve to be lack of self discipline, my wife Becci was there, ready with the pep talk right when I need it the most. She said even considering giving up the Road To Pro was ridiculous especially when this is something I can overcome. Discipline may take time to learn and hold onto but I will do so and she told me whether I play .50/$1 or $1/$2 or whatever, don't push so hard. Play my own game. Think of nothing else, but playing my own game. Do not think of results, or down swings. Just play your game, period. She was right of course and since she helped me get my head back on straight I was able to end August with a $30 profit in the last few days of the month.
