Well the MTT's didn't start off well tonight. I entered the Bodog $100K Points Semi-Final tournament because I had 250 Bodog points that I wanted to use up. First off it's suppose to pay 109 tournament credits for every 27 players entered. We had 106, basically 2 shy of having 4 full seats. Now normally in Bodog's points tournaments they would give away 3 at 109 and give around 100 credits for 4th. However in this tournament setup they only give away 3 spots really making it 1 in every 35 players. Anyways, I started off and was doing ok keeping close to chip average then I got JJ in the $40 blinds. I was UTG so I raised to $120 and got reraised by the cutoff seat to $200. Everyone folded and I just called. I was kinda thinking I was up against a higher pocket pair because the raise was kinda small. The flop comes down KQJ rainbow. I led out and bet $160 and got reraised to $460 so I went all in. He turns over AK. Turn is the Ace and river is the King. Out in 52nd. The only thing I would of done different is a larger bet on the flop with the straight draw out there. I'm sure he would of called anyways though. Went out 140th in the Bodog 7.5k. Got up around 3500 before break but made a bad call right before break on 2nd pair and went into the break around 2200. Didn't do squat after break and might of got a little impatient with A4 on the button when small blind pushed me all in for the 3rd time when I raised the unopened pot from the button. He flipped over AJs and it was over. Definitely a tournament that I had problems letting go of second pair. Played in $5 Bodog tournament with 120 people in it. Got up early and fizzled out. Went out 28th with pocket 77 up against KJs when he hit a K on the flop. Could of probably squeezed into the top 18 for the money but was wanting to make the final table. When I pushed this in we was on the 150 blinds and I had 1100 in chips. Night just keeps rolling. Played in the ecasinodeals monthly freeroll on Poker Rewards. 107 of us in it. Just coming out of 2nd break I was about half the chip average and picked up QQ. Called a guys all in and he flips over AQ. Hits the ace on the river and Im out in 35th. Kinda frustrating but I know it's just part of poker and I win that hand the majority of the time. Final MTT of the night was the Bodog WSOP/WPT qualifer. It has a $5.50 buyin or you can use tournament credits. I buy in with credits. I'm actually not looking to play in the WSOP/WPT finals but rather I want to get 109 credits to buy into Sunday's 100K tournament. There was 63 players so the final 11 get points. I had owned this tournament when I started playing it but lately I've lost 7 in a row to drop my credits to under 60. This tournament was no exeption. Just couldn't get anything going. Eventually pushing in my with AJ to run into AK. Lost a big hand earlier when I raised with pocket 10s and got reraised by short stack with A2s. Caught an ace on the flop and I never caught up. Good and bad tonight on the MTTs. I was pretty happy with my starts but coming out of the breaks I just couldn't get anything rolling. Need to work more on my middle game I guess. The bad call with 2nd pair in the 7.5K was my worst move of the night. I will get better. On to limit poker. I deposited on Party and Stars for their bonuses. Probably won't end up playing on Stars but since they are stackable and don't expire, I'll save them for later. Started playing my Party bonus. I needed to clear 700 raked hands for the $100. I cleared 310 raked hands playing .5/1 limit and made $31. I also played on Superior for just a little bit at 1/2 and 2/4 limit and made $54. I also finally got credited for my $50 GamingClub bonus from a week ago today. All told today I made $116 making my monthly total +$40. Ramblings: Finished reading Harrington on Holdem Volume I today. Pretty good book. Not as enlightning as some of the reviews I had read but maybe I just need to go over it again. It's still a good book. I also bought Harrington on Holdem Volume II and will probably start reading it tomorrow. It looks like a good book with some advanced MTT concepts. I think I'm taking tomorrow off to take my boys dove hunting. It will be the 1st day off from poker since the middle of July. Actually since April 2004, I have taken off less than 20 days and 14 of those was in July when the family went to DisneyWorld. Probably should find a way to take off more days but I just don't see it happening.
