While I'm living my dual life, working man by day- hustler by night, my girlfriend is left bored at the pad with nothing to do. Being the genius that I am, I decided to give her money to play holdem online. Hopefully she'll understand my world more when I start cursing about getting sucked out by that runner runner after you've flopped the nuts or the irritation from hearing jibber jabber while you're concentrating on 4 tables of $10-$20. $100 goes into her pp account. I tell her the basics of the game and advise her to use discipline. "Just play suited connectors -nothing less than 56, J10 and up, pocket pairs, and only Ace suited that can make a straight and flush". Basic concepts that should help her win in any $.50-$1 table. Anything else from semi-bluffing and position would frustrate any beginner. The next day I go to work and receive a phone call around 11 am that went like this. "Babe, I'm losing." "Are you playing every hand?" "Maybe. Butt.....It's boring when you wait!!" "Geezzz. You know $.50 adds up when you play every hand." "Okayyyy fine." Thirty minutes later I get another call. "Babe, I need more money" "You lost $100 in .50-1? We'll talk about it when I get home. Geez...You know that's like me losing $3000 in $15-$30." "But babe I just need more practice!!!" Should I give her some more money? Or am I creating a monster. Goodness losing 100BB in any game is a pretty bad loss. If she learned anything from it then maybe I'll give her another $100.00. On the hand, maybe I'll just buy her a shirt instead.
