Taking a lesson from Ace on the River

"A player who is losing a lot, especially in a limit game, shouldnt focus on trying to get even. Instead he should think about getting some of his money back. Losing $3000 in an 80-160 game after being stuck $6000 is a good comeback."
Barry Greenstein"Ace on the River"
I like his new book and recommend it to anybody who plays poker seriously. I havent read it enough times to give it a good review yet. It's an easy read, some may find the chapters on each topic too short, but it fits my attention span just fine.
Today I found myself stuck $250 after 3 hours of play. That is pretty much my loss limit for the day so I decided to give a $10 heads up match a shot and if I lose that I would call it a day. I play the $10 heads up NL match and the guy gives me his money. I double up and play a $20 match. This opponent is a little better but still puts all of his money in the pot drawing dead and I got $30 total. I decide to take my $30 profits and play a $33 9-man Sit and Go. It's a wild game and by the time we are at the $25-50 level half of the field is out. Feeling a little lucky, I click on another screen and get a $100 buy-in NL ring game going too. I am card dead the entire tournament but before the level ends the big stack knocks out 2 players and I am guaranteed money. In the live game, I raise 4 limpers to $5 with AJ clubs one off the button. They all call and we see a flop with 2 clubs. In the end I beat a Queen high flush for a $160 pot. The 2 big stacks get AA vs KK in the tournament and I luck myself into 2nd! Of course I managed to get all of my money in drawing dead to get 2nd in the SnG but I contributed that mistake the the end of my rush. Stuck only $75 I take Barrys' advice and call it a day. I figure it's 4:20 somewhere in the world. cya
